The internet is a wonderful life-changing thing. I ordered my slow carb groceries for London on the internet whilst sitting in Sofia. All that is left is to pack it up for work tomorrow. These are the foods that I have bought:

  • Chicken, chopped
  • Tuna (tinned for convenience)
  • Some good quality cooked beef
  • Lentils (tinned)
  • Black beans (tinned)
  • Broccoli and cauliflower florets
  • Eggs

Also I bought a bottle of red wine seeing as I’m allowed to have a glass every day. As suggested by Mr Ferris, I have gone for tinned lentils and beans - I started to soak and cook some dry ones at my Prague flat and it simply took too long. A bit more planning next time will be required to use dry goods. In addition to this, I have bought some microwaveable egg poachers to speed up my breakfast. I will be starting the diet on Friday and following it on Saturday. Sunday will be my day off this week and normally Saturday will be. This means I won’t have a full week before my rest day but I don’t think Monday is necessarily a good day to start. The key this evening is to make sure that I have everything prepared for Friday - I already have an evening out planned at a fish restaurant where there will grill the fish and serve it with a salad instead of chips, so one less meal to plan. Breakfast will be easy too - slightly more complicated will be the 2 meals at work. I don’t usually cook at work so it will have to be simple. Starting tomorrow I will post my weight and waist measurements, and pictures of the food.
