On my recent holiday in Southbourne, I enjoyed a full English breakfast every morning. There’s a nice café overlooking the sea and it’s rather pleasant to have breakfast there. On my return, I have found a new café not too far from home where the breakfasts are good. And I’ve got into the habit of popping out on cheat day for a breakfast.

I enjoy a good breakfast, but unfortunately this is not a good thing. Many years ago when I started looking after my diet, I restricted myself to one English breakfast a month. And I’d forgotten why until now.

I can only have such a breakfast on a cheat day. And I either need to make it the big meal of the day or have smaller ones. I usually have the Set Menu 9 which is two bacon, two sausages, two eggs, two hash browns, beans and toast. Oh and I order extra fried bread. This leaves me feeling over full, bloated and generally tired. This is not a good thing.

So I’ve decided to cut them out for a bit and have a more sensible breakfast on cheat day. And eventually if I go back to them, it won’t be for a Set Menu 9. If anything, I will have a much smaller choice.
