Greetings from Amsterdam.
It will be a carb-fest. It always is. The moment I arrive on the continent, I find it difficult to stick to any diet. So, I’ve given myself a break for two days instead of one this week. Do I deserve it?

Well, not really if you look at the statistics above. Please don’t call the A.A. on my behalf. I caveat that a “red” for alcohol means over 250ml of wine, which means I get a red for half a bottle of wine.
The problem stems from last weekend. On Friday we drove to Liverpool and although we ate sensibly, we opened a bottle of wine. Shock horror. On Saturday, I ended up getting a red card for the diet because I had some bread and rice with a meal.
Sunday was my cheat day. I spent the day at Everton Football club with some friends. The hospitality there is very good. It’s a shame they are going to change the approach when they move from Goodison park to the docks next season. I had a lovely roast dinner and the wine kept coming.
That meant on Monday, when I had to drive home, I wasn’t in the mood for diets. So although I ate according to plan, I had 3 small glasses of wine in the evening. And I’m afraid that’s how it has been all week.
Added to the fact that work has been intense this week, I haven’t got the exercise I need. That said, the weight is between 83 and 84, so all is not lost. I just need to get back on the wagon properly next week.
