I got on the scales this morning and they flickered between 79.9 and 80kg. Why does moving from 80 to 79.9 feel better than moving from 80.1 to 80? Purely in the mind, I guess. The point is that I’ve shifted a significant amount of weight, and you can see the difference too.

The last two weeks have been difficult personally. So difficult in fact that I’m surprised I’ve stayed on the wagon. The diet has just happened without effort. I’ve not drunk any alcohol despite going to the pub several times. In fact, last week a friend and I went to two pubs on Friday and three pubs on Monday. I drank sparkling water.

But the downside is I’m finding it difficult to do things in the evening. I wake up sharp and ready to think about stuff. I’m usually awake between 6 and 7. But from about 1800 I’m not capable of much that involves brain work. So, I watch films or unfortunately scroll on the internet.

In terms of Lent, we are nearly at the end. I have this week, then the following week I will go through to Good Friday. I will do something on Good Friday to break the fast, but I need to carry on for some time. On Easter Monday I fly to Atlanta for my final(?) baseball stadium tour. It is incredibly easy to put weight on in America.
