Lent Reflections.
I’ve finished dieting for Lent. I broke my fast, or rather the rules, last night in the pub with two small glasses of red. Let’s just say the pub didn’t have a wine list. And the “vintage” on the bottles was the best before date. Anyway, it did the job.
Here are the graphs.

I’ve lost 5.7kg since Shrove Tuesday (4th April 2025). I didn’t weigh in until the following Saturday, so potentially I’ve lost more.

According to the fat analysis scales, I’ve lost 3kg of fat. This is the important figure of course.
Here are the final statistics for the week:

I have to say that Lent was a stressful time for me, and I’m surprised I stuck with it until the end. But the rules of “One Meal a Day” make it easy. There is no ambiguity, so it is easy to get on with.
So, what next? I’m taking today off. I’m up early this morning. I’ve cleaned the kitchen. I intend to go out and get breakfast, then spend the day writing in the library. If I feel hungry enough, I will find pie and mash in the afternoon. This evening, my Russian teacher has kindly agreed to go through my book one last time. Hopefully I can get the print edition out in May!
There’s a bottle of champagne in the fridge for the evening. That said, I will take it easy on Saturday, have dinner with my family on Sunday and take it easy on my holiday starting Monday!
