May Week 1 Update.
My ketosis strips have expired. I’ve had them since August, so it’s no surprise. I’ve got new ones on the way. As a result, my ketosis tests are not particularly useful at the moment. I can smell acetone+, so I must be in some form of ketosis. A couple of weeks ago, my personal trainer said, “you look like someone who is in ketosis”. I’m never sure if this is a compliment or not.
Anyway, whether I’m burning fat or not is up for debate. My weight is stable. I’m weighing in around 79kg, which is good enough for me. But I would like to lose some more fat. I’m considering going hardcore again in June and going back on one meal a day. Let’s see. I have a holiday in Greece to get through first.

Then we move on to the calories and macros. I’m eating a lot with two meals a day. Of course, a glass of wine (or two) adds to the calories without adding much else. It’s easy to measure calories when food is labelled. It’s hard to measure when you get your meat from the butchers. I’ve had to rely on online sources for metrics. And today I will be having food at restaurants and cafes where it is not always possible to get information.

Of course, today is a cheat day. I’ve started the day with cornflakes. Then a long dog walk. Now I’m heading to the gym to attack my shoulders. And then I will head to London for Pie and Mash. I suspect the evening will involve Fish and Chips, and wine.
+ Claude told me not to tell you when I smell acetone. And no, he didn’t write this - he corrected the spelling.
