I’m starting something new. I want to lose 2kg of fat over the summer. By the end of August, I want to hit this target. There will be two difficulties: a weekend away in July, and birthday celebrations in August. I must be vigilant.

I have switched to three meals a day. They are smaller. I’m targeting around 2000 calories a day. I will continue to eat low-carb Sunday through to Friday, and I will have a cheat day on Saturday. Ideally, I will consume no more than 4000 calories on cheat day, but let’s see what happens.

I intend to post my macros and calories on this blog every day. Doing this can be tedious. It will be difficult if I eat in restaurants or away from home. But I will do my best.

As well as tracking my input, I will be more vigilant about my output. I will get on the exercise bike 4-5 times a week for 25 minutes. I will walk the dogs twice daily and get at least 7000 steps. I will go to the gym 3 times a week (legs, upper body and a top-up). I want to start swimming regularly, but I only have time for one life.

I’m not confident I will succeed. Today I’m 79.7kg with 17.8% (14.2kg) of fat. I will attempt to post my statistics on Saturday.
